A Sustainable Landscaping System
Targeted Grazing
More Economical
In some parts of the world goats may be considered something of a novelty to landscaping, however, they are very common in other parts of the world. Goats have proven to be quite adaptable to a wide range of terrains thus targeted grazing can be applicable to wetlands, rangelands, farmland, suburbs, nature preserves, and much, much, more.
They graze in places mowers cannot reach and people don’t want to go!
Let’s leave landscaping to the professionals!
What we provide
-
Targeted Grazing
Targeted grazing is the careful use of goats to meet vegetation management goals. Targeted grazing is about manipulating the timing, intensity and duration of grazing in order to control undesirable plants that are invasive, aggressive or pose fire risks. Ideally, this will also support in the recovery of native vegetation.
If you’re tired of tackling that untamable crabgrass, goats will soon be your new gardening best friend. Be it prickly thorns, itchy poison ivy, or other weeds, goats will chomp through it saving you time spent maintaining your property.
-
The #1 Sustainable Choice
Goats make an amazing green alternative to using harsh chemicals on your land or using fossil fuels that smell. By working together with the goats we can bring our land back to a much healthier environmental state without destroying the ecology and by giving the beneficial plants a chance to grow.
The use of grazing goats eliminates worrying about the risk of potentially harmful chemicals that can have a negative environmental impact. Goats eat almost anything and everything, provide fertilizer for the field, neutralize several varieties of weed seeds, and are a low-maintenance method of land management.

The Economic Benefits
You can save anywhere between $1,500 and $3,000 per acre if you choose to rent goats for land clearing rather than invest in regular landscaping service.
Keep in mind that if you have less than an acre of land the cost may be less beneficial compared to the cost of hiring a local lawn care service. However, goats will usually still save you money, even if your property is smaller.
No Extra Cost for Sloped or Uneven Terrain.
No lunch breaks.
Goats are famously agile, which means they can tackle your weed problems with ease, even if you have sloped or uneven terrain. What’s even better is that they don’t charge extra for challenging landscapes like humans do.
Benefits to Goatscapes
Topsoil is virtually undisturbed
Hooves blend goat droppings into the soil for fertilizer.
Goats’ digestive enzymes render eaten and excreted seeds non-viable.
Weeds are less vigorous over time when they are “stomped on” by goats.

Should you hire a landscaping company or goats to keep your property looking great? Here are a few things to think about before making your decision.
1. Not All jobs Are Right for Goats
First, you’ll need to determine if your property is the right job for a goat. Targeted grazing is best for ares that:
Have lots of weeds
Have tall grass
Have several invasive species
Consider how fast your weeds grows. If you live in an area with a lot of rain and sun, goats can help prevent pieces of it from becoming overgrown.
However, in the same way that you should always mow high to maintain healthy, green grass and prevent dead spots, you may not want live animals chewing your slow-growing grass down to the roots.
2. Grass Isn’t a Goat’s First Choice
You may not know unless you’re a goat expert: Grass is not a goat’s favorite thing to eat. They’ll definitely eat grass, if there’s nothing else to munch on, but they prefer other vegetation a little more, which is why people will use goats for weeds and invasive species.
Goats can (and happily will) eat:
Poison ivy
Poison oak
Various types of weeds
Invasive plant species like kudzu, leafy spurge, and milk thistle
Goats are known to pull down tree branches, rip up shrubs, and dismantle saplings to get to the tasty leaves. So, if you’re looking for a super-precise job, goats may not be the best option for your lawn.
3. Fire Mitigation
In the face of climate change with less available water and more deadly wildfires, managed goat herds are an effective wildfire prevention tool with a tiny footprint. As thousands of acres of open spaces burn each year, along with destroying homes and communities there is interest in actively working to create a more fire resilient landscape. Managed grazing with goats is one tool homes owners, land managers, communities and public agencies can utilize to reduce fire fuel loads that can lead to catastrophic fires. The goal of managed grazing is to reduce "fine fuels" that can carry a fire, not to "fire proof" your landscape.
